Artrium
What
Artrium is a digital auction app that lets art enthusiasts discover and bid on art pieces without physically attending an auction.
Why
Finding time to join a physical auction while maintaining a busy schedule can be difficult. The app, allows users bid conveniently without the stress of being at an auction in person.
How
Artrium organizes live digital auctions with art pieces curated from an art gallery. On the app, users can bid against other collectors for a specific piece.

Persona
After conducting qualitative and quantitative research, a profile emerged from the data. This user was brought to life in the persona and served as a reference point through out the development of this project.

Problem Statement
Casey needs an online auction platform that lets her conveniently place bids for art pieces from artists she loves. She wants the experience of a live auction without the stress of being physically there.
Hypothesis Statement
If Casey can place bids online in a way that imitates the experience of a live auction, she will be able to collect art pieces without missing out on rare opportunities.
Goal Statement
Our art auction app will let users bid on art they love, without physically attending an auction. We will measure effectiveness by analyzing the number of items sold on the auction app.
User Journey
To gain a clear understanding of how users search for and bid on art pieces during an auction, I developed the user journey by mapping out each step in the process. This allowed me to explore users’ motivations, expectations, and pain points. It also enabled me to identify gaps or friction in the experience and uncover opportunities to improve usability, satisfaction, and overall engagement.

Design Process
Understanding the users problem was the foundation for developing ideas and building wireframes. User testing was conducted at various stages to make sure pain points were resolved and flows were easy to follow.

Role
This project was developed as part of my course work and my role includes UX/UI design and brand design.
Takeways
The main focus the project was to iterate and execute ideas under a short time frame. Even though it consumes a lot of time, conducting user research really helped to uncovered insights and features that I never anticipated.
Next Steps
The goal of the project was to develop a minimum viable product with limited features. Going foward, additional features and flows will be included.
